Apple’s flat panel displays have certified color, crisp pixels and great viewing angle technology so you can see what you’re working on. There are three sizes to choose from:the 17” Studio Display, the new 20” Cinema Display, and the 23” HD Cinema Display. And all of these flat-panel puppies are super-light and super-thin, so they won’t weigh down your mixing desk, like the rest of your gear.

Super HD Action
The top-of-the-line 30” display has over 4 million digital pixels (2560 x 1600 pixels), so it can easily support HD content in its native format, with space to spare. This monitor is great for the studio because as you’ll find, it’s big, it’s clear, and it’s easy on your eyes. The 17, 20 and 23” displays are also quite nice.

Further, what’s super cool for studio kids like us is that Apple displays have really good viewing angle technology — minimizing color shift from different angles — so you can see what’s on your monitor, even as you move around the studio. So you won’t have to be directly in front of the monitor at all times just to see what’s on the screen.

Get Connected
All Apple Displays have a two-port USB hub conveniently built into the back of the monitor, so you can plug in even more cool audio goodies close to home — like a USB-connected audio interface, a mixer/control surface like the Logic Control, or a controller midi keyboard, such as an Oxygen 8.

No Annoying Screen Flicker
Another cool thing about flat-panel displays is that they produce flicker-free images with twice the brightness, sharpness, and contrast ratio of a typical CRT display. Plus, the Apple displays work really well with the high-performance graphics engine in the Power Mac G5 and PowerBook G4, which keeps the screen clear and undistorted, so you can get more work done.

They Can Take the Heat
Apple’ flat-panel displays are immune to heat, humidity and electromagnetic fields that can cause color changes to a CRT. Knowing how hot some audio gear runs, that’s a good thing.

Easy to Adjust
All three of Apple’s displays have a swiftly adjustable hinge so you can set it at whatever angle is appropriate for your studio set up, no screwdrivers required.

Fast pixel response
Apple’s flat-panel displays are engineered to display intensive full-motion video and game graphics without artifacts, so you can see what you’re working on, whether it be watching tracks as you play through a mix, or staring intently as you edit a soundwave. When compared against other LCD displays, Apple displays perform better across the entire spectrum, preventing ghosting and banding in gray levels, not just black and white.

Save Energy
The power consumption of the Apple displays is incredibly small. Even the 23” Cinema HD Display uses as low as one third of the power that a CRT monitor (of comparable size) does. Apple displays also generate just a fraction of the heat that CRT monitors do.

If you’re ready to get a Display to use with your Mac, go ahead and select from the options to the right. If you are looking to use a Display with a PowerBook, you’ll need to get an adapter, like the one to the right, as well.
