Access Virus
The synth that everyone wants to get their hands on

Audiohead Interviews Tech Tips Events Goods and Gear Featured Music

Access Music changed the face of modern synthesizers in 1997 when it unleashed its killer virtual analog synth, the Virus, upon the world. The synth became a quick favorite for its phat-sounding oscillators, analog-sounding filters, flexibility and wide range of features.

Today, the Virus comes in several hardware configurations, and as a plug-in for use in Pro Tools.

Among the current pro favorites that are now available at special pricing via AUDIOHEAD.net (see right column for links to purchase) are:

Access Virus C
Access Virus KC 5-Octave Synth
Access Virus Indigo V.2 Keyboard
Access Virus Rack Classic Module
Access Virus Rack XL

Infected By Virus

“I created a lot of the drums (for Useful Noise V2) on my analog synths, on my Arps, and some of the stuff came out of the Virus,” says sound design icon Keith Hillebrandt (NIN / Useful Noise). “A lot of the processing also went through my Roland SP-808 — which is something that Trent turned me onto — and my various pedals.”

“I use the Virus a lot,” says producer/mixer Alan Moulder. “If I want a sound that a virtual instrument doesn’t give me then I’ll use a non-virtual one.”
