Line 6 Variax
The only studio guitar you need

Line 6 takes modeling seriously. The company broke new ground in amp modeling with the Pod and Bass pods, the Vetta, Flextone, the Spider and other interfaces. Then Line 6 jumped into brand new territory, porting their sweet tone, technique and extreme perfectionism over to the instrument realm with the release of the Variax electric modeled guitar in 2002, and now with the release of the Variax Acoustic 700 acoustic modeled guitar.

Instant Access To The Classics
The Variax guitar takes Line 6’s exclusive modeling technology and injects it into a high-quality, custom-crafted solid-body guitar so you can get instant access to the top sounds from a variety of classic 6- and 12-string electric and acoustic guitars and fretted instruments like a resonator, banjo, and electric sitar.

Unlike regular electric guitars that have standard magnetic pickups, the Variax detects its string vibrations through a hexaphonic bridge pickup that then converts the signal into digital, and processes it using software algorithms that reconvert the signal to analog so it can be sent directly out to a guitar amp.

Look, Mom...No Noise!
As a result, your single-coil sounds will remain noise-free, your acoustic instrument sounds can be played at higher volumes without feedback, and a variety of classic guitar tones can be at your fingertips with a flick of the switch.

The Variax features a contoured alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium frets, and a 25-1/2" scale length. It can be powered either by onboard batteries or from footswitch. Includes gig bag and an A/B footswitch.
